My name is Bill and I live in a small southern city in Virginia. As I have watched our political system over the years and observed the ineffectiveness of our elected leaders, I have become more and more frustrated.  We are a nation of strong, patriotic, Christian people whose very existance depended on working together to overcome difficult challanges, being willing to stand toe to toe with our fellow citizens against common foes and being willing to get involved by expressing our collective voice for democracy.  We need to return to these principles.

 

We are a nation that is paralized by the extreme partisanship that is widely practiced by ALL political parties and most politicians. This partisansahip is dividing our nation and destroying our way of govenment...and I see national media members just adding to the divide and crippling our nation by strongly encouraging and promoting this extreme and poisoinous partisanship. I actually enjoy the entertainment Rush and others offer. I fully defend their right to free speech and utilize talk radio for their opinions. I actully agree with many of the opinions expressed - but I whole heartedly oppose the negative, often insulting,  rhetoric that is part of these shows and others.

Our nation and our leaders are so busy fighting among ourselves for power that we have lost sight of the real threats and issues that face us. And these threats and issues are not getting solved or addressed effectively. It is OK to strongly disagree and take a stance on issues, but when disagreements begin to sound like two 7 year old kids fighting over the last cookie and resort to name calling and personal attacks - we have lost sight of our mission.

Millions of Americans are feeling the frustration of our broken nation and broken political process. We need to have our voices heard. I am but one small voice - but I chose to express it thru this site rather than remain silent. Please join me. I welcome your input and will publish select viewer comments as I see appropriate.
