Is Obama being Criticized for Acting Christian?

Right-Wing "Christians" Appear to Fault Obama for Acting Christian

I don't quite understand all the criticism President Obama has received for acting Christian in his initial contact with foreign leaders.  He has been respectful, non-judgemental, willing to shake hands and extend friendship even to adversaries, he has been humble and held his tougue as he was criticized.

I watched and listened this morning to Dr. Charles Stanley, minister of the First Baptist Church in Atlanta as Dr. Stanley spelled out how Christians should conduct themselves during times of conflict and personal attacks.  His outlined approach was to be humble, listen to the attacks and keep quiet, seek guidance (from the Holy Spirit) if you may be at fault and to forgive the adversary.  Forgiveness is not saying it is OK - it is not saying you are right - but it does free the mind and soul of the one doing the forgiving from anger and animosity. I love watching Dr. Stanley and encourage you to do so when you can...

It is impossible to truly seek peaceful resolutions when your heart is full of anger and animosity.  If you do not believe that, try it with your spouse or significant other when you are really mad and let's see how that works for you.  And hopefully you have a comfortable sofa to sleep on.  Yes the US is more powerful than other nations - as is the husband in most marriages - but if you approach your relationship starting with "I am stronger and I am always right"...you will need a good divorce lawyer....or you will fail at foreign policy.

I have digressed - but my point is that Obama is showing the tact and restraint that we have not often witnessed in our foreign policy  - from politicians in either party - and many of his actions so far have been a mirror of Christian doctrines - and yet he is being harshly criticised by some so called "Christians" on talk radio -  simply because he is not a member of their political party.  Who is acting like a Christian and who is acting like a hypocrite?
